Daikin air conditioners are equipped with technologies that increase their durability

Like Japan, Daikin aims to produce durable, long-lasting air conditioners to reduce waste from household appliances. Daikin representatives said that their products are always getting better in technology and design to meet the needs of their customers.

Daikin air conditioners use many new technologies, including exclusive ones, to extend product life.

Voltage Shielding Technology (Hi /Low Voltage Shield)

Unstable voltage fluctuations can quickly damage electronic equipment. Therefore, Daikin's FTKM, FTKC, ATKC, FTKA, and ATKA series are equipped with an electronic board that can withstand single-phase voltages up to 440 V. This circuit board eliminates the need for extra voltage stabilizers.

These machines work in the voltage range of 150V-264V. (FTKM is 130V-264V). The device will shut down if the voltage is higher than 264V or lower than 440V.

The air conditioner will automatically restart when the voltage returns to normal.

In unstable voltage networks, this technology helps the air conditioner run smoothly, preventing damage from voltage fluctuations that can cause it to break down.

FTKC is one of the products with voltage protection technology.

Anti-corrosion heatsink technologies protect the outdoor unit

The outdoor unit was initially installed in the rain and sun. The outdoor unit also consumes over 95% of the air conditioner's electricity. A well-functioning outdoor unit will extend the product's life and save energy for the person who owns it.

Daikin's FTKC25/35, ATKC, FTKA, and ATKA series install heat exchanger fins made of copper and aluminum, painted to increase product durability to increase resistance to acid rain and salt corrosion.

Some models, like the FTKM and FTKC50/60/71, use MCHE (microtubule heatsink-microchannel) technology. This is because the heat exchanger has more surface area and airflow, making it more efficient and durable.

According to Daikin Research and Development Center Thailand, the MCHE heatsink has been sprayed with a salt solution for 2,000 hours and has not leaked due to corrosion.

DC motor for swing compressor

The Swing Compressor is Daikin's exclusive technology that reduces friction and vibration. It also reduces refrigerant leakage during compression. This feature makes compressor operation quieter and more efficient.

Swing compressors use a reluctance DC motor with magnets to increase efficiency. Attaching powerful interests to the rotating shaft creates a powerful magnet. The DC motor gains speed and power by rapidly switching the electromagnet's poles.

Correct use

Beyond the manufacturer's new technology, how people use the product significantly impacts how long it lasts.

According to refrigeration engineer Hoang Tien Thanh, machine life depends on installation, usage, and maintenance:

  1. Select an air conditioner with a used capacity.
  2. If possible, use an inverter air conditioner to save energy and follow the manufacturer's installation instructions.
  3. Setting a reasonable temperature and keeping the machine in a good cleaning and maintenance mode will ensure the device is used efficiently and will last longer.
